I was walking down Barracks Row and noticed the Tortuga restaurant is closed/windows covered. It was a Mexican ish restaurant a few years ago and the turned over to this. Curious if it’s changing form again?”
Tortuga posted on their IG December 6th: “Thank you to everyone who has supported Tortuga over the years. We have closed for remodel, but remain open for holiday parties and private events. We can’t wait for you to see what’s next!”

“Little District Books, on Barrack’s Row in Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. opened in June 2022. A dream business for owner Patrick Kern, a 10-year resident of the greater Washington D.C. area.
The first six months showed us that the community was looking for a space like ours. The expansion has occurred earlier than planned. We were able to do a lot with our initial 300 sq. foot of retail, but there was also a lot we weren’t able to do.
