The Craigslist ad says:

“This is essentially THE SMALLEST TINIEST DINKIEST MOST RIDICULOUS ABSURD MINI-DEMI-PSEUDO-SILLYHOUSE IN WASHINGTON.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/17/AR2009041702113.htmlThis tiny but cool house on Capitol Hill is available May 1. It’s a very small studio inside, but it’s a separate house, not a basement like other units its size. Did I mention it’s small? 252 square feet–9.5 feet wide, 28 feet long. It’s the smallest house in DC! But it’s bright and funky, and perfect for someone as cool as you.

Think $1095 sounds reasonable?

Here’s a couple of great examples of second floor bay windows. They’re from Capitol Hill.

The Craigslist ad says:

“301 9th St. SE, #1, — Super sunny first floor two bedroom apartment located in a corner building just two blocks from Eastern Market/Barracks Row shopping, restaurants, & METRO. Laundry, a/c, kitchen with dishwasher, oak floors, living room fireplace, and good-sized brick private patio. Available immediately. $1,950 + utilities (HEAT and hot water included in the rent). Does $1950 sound reasonable for this 2 bedroom?

Last two Cap Hill rowhouses for this week. Above I dug the shutters and below I found the front door placing unusual.

This apartment is located at 215 C Street, SE:

The Craigslist ad says:

“We invite you to discover 215 C Street Apartment Homes, a hidden gem in the heart of Washington DC’s Capitol Hill. We are conveniently located two blocks from the South Capitol Metro and one block from Pennsylvania Avenue with its shopping, dining, and entertainment. Easy walking distance to The House and Senate Office Buildings,The Library of Congress, The Supreme Court, and The Capitol and just TWO blocks from Capitol South Metro station.”

Since I did a bunch of walking around the Hill I thought I’d check a rental option. I was intrigued by this one because of the 2 months free rent plus a $1000 visa gift card. I hadn’t seen a perk like that before. So does $1420 sound reasonable for an efficiency at this location (plus perks)?

First the scuttlebutt, I hear that the owner of nearby Lola’s and soon to open Chesapeake Room (see below) has purchased the Veterinary clinic on the 500 block of 8th Street, SE (pictured above). More info on this space as it becomes available. As it is only scuttlebutt the purchase of the property has not yet been confirmed.

Barracks Row seems to be getting as many new bars/restaurants as H Street, NE. Georgia Ave has a bit of catching up to do…

And here are a few new restaurants on Barracks Row that we have previously discussed here. And the building from the owner’s of Matchbox is looking good as well:

Continues after the jump. (more…)

There are a couple of blocks in South East, not too far from Eastern Market, that has a wild new development. A friend of mine said that she believes it is a mixed income development.

Does anyone know the story behind these homes? The pictures don’t do them great justice, but I thought it looked awesome.

You can find more info and photos here.

While the language in the flier, “come meet this coy coquette” makes me want to puke – I actually really do like this home. The location is pretty killer as well. What’s your favorite part of the house? Does $629,000 sound reasonable for this 2 bed/1.5 bath?

The condo includes an I-Pod Docking Station and and the kitchen includes Stainless Steel appliances and granite countertops.
