“On 8-4-18 at approximately 12:50 am, MPD units received a call for the sounds of gunshots in the 5100 block of 8th Street, N.W. A canvass of the area revealed three shell casings at the intersection of Gallatin and 8th ST NW. There was no evidence of property damage or any injuries reported.

The Department is requesting that anyone with information related to this event call 202 727-9099.”

“The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in reference to a First Degree Sexual Abuse While Armed (Knife) incident which occurred in the 5500 block of 8th Street, NW, on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at approximately 3:15 AM. The subject was captured by a nearby surveillance camera.

Your assistance is appreciated by your community. CCN #18-115-988. Anyone who can identify this individual or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE to 50411.”

“It happened shortly after 3 a.m. when a man approached a home and knocked on the door on 8th Street between Kennedy and Longfellow streets.

A woman opened the door, and the man pulled out a knife and forced the woman to the ground outside.”

“On July 9th, at approximately 1:30pm, in the rear alley of the 5100 block of 7th St NW, a victim reports that her vehicle was taken from her at gunpoint.

The vehicle taken was recovered several hours later in P.G. County.

The suspects are described as black males, 15-17 years of age, with a medium complexion.

Fourth District detectives are actively investigating the case.

“On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at approximately 11:00pm, Fourth District officers were flagged down by a cab driver who reported that he had been robbed at gunpoint in the 3900 block of Georgia Avenue, NW. The complainant reported that he picked up a fare in the 1100 block of U Street, NW and transported the fare to various areas of Park Road, NW, within the Fourth District. The complainant stated that during the ride, the suspect produced a gun, demanded money and made the complainant drive him around looking for an ATM. (more…)

“Yesterday evening, at approximately 11:00 pm, Fourth District officers heard gunshots and immediately responded to the area. During their initial investigation, they located an adult male victim suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released. At this time there is no lookout information to share. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call 202-727-9099.”
