I think this house looks great though I was wondering why it was on the market for so long. (I think it got relisted because redfin said it’s only been listed for 14 days but I’m pretty sure that’s not right.) Well, it’s now under contract but I’m wondering if you dig the house and if you think $599,900 was a good deal for this 2bed 2.5 bath?

And because there were no photos I thought I’d include this house located at 82 V Street, NW as well:

I could’ve sworn this was Bloomingdale and not Le Droit. Which do you think is a more desirable neighborhood Bloomingdale or LeDroit Park? This home is on the market for $524,995. Considering there are no photos it probably needs some work. Does this price sound reasonable? I love the homes of Bloomingdale but have the prices really gone that high?

Whenever I need to score some good looking houses I just head to Bloomingdale.

This has been quite an epic development at 84-86 T Street, NW (just off North Capitol). A friend of mine lives nearby and told me that construction has restarted on this spot. It is supposed to become a bar (the first for Bloomingdale?) and will also serve some food. I believe there were some legal battles that slowed down progress and most recently I’m hearing construction is on again – off again. But at least construction has (sorta) resumed. I believe this spot is owned by the same guy who owns Veranda at 1100 P Street, NW. I hope they finish soon as folks have been pining for a bar in Bloomingdale.  What are your predictions for when Bloomingdale will finally get a new bar?

These are from First Street, NW in Bloomingdale. A friend of mine thought they may have been installed for the First on 1st Art Walk. Anyone check that out by the way? I can’t wait to check out their next one.

I always like to highlight homes with interesting paint jobs. I think this one on the 100 block of T Street, NW came out pretty good.

“Dear PoP,

I’ve got a question I think only you or your readers would be able to answer, could you help me out?

Does anyone know if I’ll be able to see the July 4th fireworks from my roof in Bloomingdale? You can see the Monument and a bit of the Capitol through the trees but I’m not sure if the show would be visible. Anyone know for sure?

If not I guess I’ll just head up to Cardozo HS, which I might do anyway as I hear it’s also great.”

If I had to guess I’d say yes. But I’m sure some Bloomingdale folks can give a more accurate answer. Have fun and Happy Fourth to all!

“Dear PoP,

I love this door, it’s in Bloomingdale, just a block north of the Big Bear Cafe, and is on my walk to the farmers market. If you haven’t published it yet, I’d love to share it with your readers. It’s at Randolf Place NW and 1st St.”

I think I have posted this door before but it’s spectacular so I have no problem with a Re-PoP especially if it’s a reader request. It’s gotta be new to somebody. Keep ’em coming!

These homes are located right next door to each other at 2130 and 2132 Flagler Place, NW:

I’m curious which you like better. What do you think of the renovations? 2130 is going for $584,900 and 2132 is going for $600,000. Do either sound reasonable?

Last week when I put a best spot for a morning cup of coffee post up a commenter said the whole house was awesome. Indeed it is another beauty from the 100 block of U Street in the Bloomingdale neighborhood. I really can’t figure out why I didn’t take photos of the whole house before. I suspect my mom was not 100% truthful when she said I was never dropped on my head as a baby…

But you can see the details are spectacular:
