Thanks to ashleynmeadows for sending us the rather artistic, though painful sight from Bloomingdale.
Bill reports below: “Behold my car (that had wheel lock on it) first thing this morning. Here in Brookland. The police recommended that I get more surveillance cameras and said that they don’t have enough staff to adequately increase patrolling in our neighborhood. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!
It’s coincidentally my birthday so happy birthday to me.”

It had been 1 day since our last stolen wheels report.

Just a random/awesome tutorial I found while trying to understand what the hell pickleball is
“Dear PoPville,
Last night walking home from Showtime I stumbled upon some pickleball paddles seemingly left in the dirt by the curb on 1st NW and U/V street. Originally I thought lucky me because this is the fastest growing sport in America and all the rage recently, in addition to the equipment being kind of pricey. This morning after doing some research, I have come to the realization that these paddles were most likely not left on the street for a good home but almost certainly dropped, lost, or forgotten as their Amazon retail value is a combined $250.”
If these are yours email me at [email protected] I’ll connect with you OP so you can describe what they look like.

From a press release:
“On November 23,2019, Creative Grounds DC, a unique art space and coffee bar will finally open its doors to the public. The two-storey, approximately 2,000 square-foot space located in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C. is a community space for teaching and showcasing art while serving ethically sourced coffee and food goods from local vendors.

Husband and wife duo, Kenn Blagburn and Asmara Sium originally conceived this project in 2017, in response to the need for more enriching organized activities for Bloomingdale’s increasing family and child population, and as a permanent space for galvanizing and promoting D.C.’s unique arts and cultural communities. 1st and S Street, NW
“Dear PoPville,
Do you have any news on the Bloomingdale Fountain on 1st and S NW? This major leak sprung in early October and there has been no discernible effort to stop the constant water flow since then.”

Thanks to Arielle for sending yesterday from Bloomingdale.
It had been 14 days since our last stolen wheels report.

Thanks to Mary Bender for sharing this awesome update with us. Remember the purple we saw a couple weeks ago at 1st and U Street, NW? It was just the beginning. (more…)
