“Major step in advancing the Board’s recently adopted goal of transitioning to a fully zero-emission bus fleet by 2045

Metro announced that it will build its first all-electric bus garage, with infrastructure and equipment needed to run 100% electric vehicles, at the Northern Bus Garage in Northwest Washington, D.C. Construction of the operations and maintenance facility is expected to take four years once all approvals are received, and will open with a mix of the current Metrobus fleet and new battery-electric vehicles, transitioning to 100% electric as Metrobus’ electric bus fleet expands. “Dear PoPville,

Can you do a follow up on the “Suspects Sought in Kidnapping while Armed (Gun) Offenses in the Third and Fourth Districts”?

I found someone’s phone in front of my house (14th and Allison St NW). It turned out to be a neighbor who was jumped, kidnapped and taken to different ATMs to get money out.

This happened Thursday morning, 1:09 am, my Nest doorbell captured it.

Third District

· On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at approximately 10:30 pm, the suspects approached the victim in the 1300 block of Corcoran Street, Northwest. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and additional suspects forced the victim inside of a vehicle. The suspects drove the victim to multiple ATMs and withdrew funds from the victim’s bank accounts. (more…)

Thanks to Adam for sending from 16th Street Heights: “Check out this neighborhood barn find I stumbled upon this afternoon on Allison Street! It’s a decomposing mid-1960’s Mustang 289! I must have walked by this ancient alley garage a zillion times over the years and somehow never noticed it before. Wow, and oy.”

“The Fourth District is currently on the scene of a shooting in the 1300 block of Longfellow Street, NW. The victim is an adult male who is conscious and breathing. He has been transported to an area hospital for treatment. The 1300 block of Longfellow Street, NW is closed to pedestrians and vehicle traffic while the crime scene is being processed.

12:40am Shooting in 16th Street Heights

“On July 30, 2021 at approximately 12:40 am the Fourth District was working a shooting in the 1400 block of Decatur Street NW. An adult male suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to a local hospital. One male suspect was taken into custody. The case is being investigated by the Fourth District Detective’s Office. If you have any information please contact 2027279099”

3925 14th Street, NW

Thanks to PVQ for sending: “FYI: Salt and Pepper II (the location on 14th and Shepherd) has a “for sale” sign in their window. I talked to the owner and confirmed this location will be closing soon. Get your takeout while you still can! I’m devastated to see them go.”

They opened here back in December 2013. The original Salt and Pepper Grill is located at 2632 Georgia Ave, NW in Pleasant Plains. You can see their menu here.
