This has got to be the strangest lawn decoration I’ve ever encountered. I’ve encountered many an odd decoration. But this one is def. the new winner. It appears to be an airplane wing. It’s from near H St, NE.

A pretty interesting door as well…

Combining my love of tree stumps and lawn decorations. Who knew they existed in DC? From Capitol Hill.

Another great Brookland specimen. This one also has some wild lawn decorations (that we once looked at a couple years ago).

I can’t remember if we’ve seen this one or not but I def. have to give props to the artist for making the ordinary – pretty awesome. It’s also from Mt. Pleasant.

“Dear PoP,
Just wanted to let you know that Petworth’s famous tethered goat on Webster Street (across from EL Haynes) is no longer with us. I noticed it was missing a few days ago while out on a walk. It is sad because it was such a random sight, a large white sculpted goat that was chained up in the front yard. It actually looks like both the goat house and the house next to it are getting cleaned up. Not sure if they are going to be renovated and sold or what, but I thought you would like to know that one of our old timers is gone. I am sad about this, but I understand that the goat most likely wouldn’t have been considered an amenity. That is all.”
One of the few lawn decoration of the day sculptures that I labeled phenomenal. I loved the fact that it was not just an awesome goat but that it had a chain around its neck. Too good. Indeed, today is a sad day.

Found not far from today’s ‘house of the day’.

I haven’t seen too many elephants. I wonder if these from Mt. Pleasant are new or if I just missed them.

We’ve looked at these wild sculptures from Columbia Heights before but now they’ve got skirts and are officially the most bizarre lawn decoration/sculptures I’ve ever seen around town.

I think I’ve posted this one before but it gets me every time I pass it (from Ledroit Park). It’s simply awesome.

I’m always surprised by how many zoo animal lawn decorations are scattered around town. I think I’ve seen 3 or 4 giraffe’s alone. If anyone lives nearby this one from 15th St, NW can you get a photo of it with the christmas lights lit up?
