Here’s a couple of great examples of second floor bay windows. They’re from Capitol Hill.

I suppose technically this is two houses so I’ll give honors to the one on the left. They are from Capitol Hill in Southeast. Bonus if anyone can name the government building in the background seen through the alley.

One of my favorite row houses from the Adams Morgan vicinity. Most likely a re-PoP but well worth another look. The details are extraordinary.

I don’t know how this one survived but I think it looks great.

Let me take this opportunity to ask why some of these houses are built back from the sidewalk like this. Well, first let me say, I think it looks awesome. But I frequently see a whole strip of houses closer to the curb with only one set back a bit like this. Anyone know why it was set up like this? To fit in an “extra” house?

This house off Vermont Ave in Shaw makes me think of the Midwest. I especially like this old bench:

I’ve previously noted this row of houses on 13th St, NW (near Cardozo HS). The corner one was speaking to me on Saturday and I was especially digging the Mediterranean vibe.

This corner row house in Mt. Pleasant is a little beat up but I love the detail on the chimney.

I’ve been tracking this house for the past few months at Brown and Monroe Streets, NW. It is completely finished and looks awesome. Even has a great spot for a morning cup of coffee.
