I couldn’t take my eyes off this building in Adams Morgan. Great name too – the Knickerbocker.

There is a whole row of homes here (NE Capitol Hill) that have these great second floor windows.

This is one of my favorites from Kalorama. Kinda has a bit of a European flavor. And a great porch and stained glass:

This super colorful one is from the eastern side of Georgetown heading towards Dupont. Anyone dig it?

It’s possible I may have just wanted to show this banana plant again…but the bay window up top is also pretty spectacular.

This one from Georgetown has a super unusual roof:

It’s been a while since I’ve wondered up 1st St, NW north of Rhode Island. I forgot how awesome the houses are on this section. This is one of my favorites, though they swapped their giraffe sculpture for this one:

This Georgetown beauty has a super cool corner turret. One of the few corner turrets I’ve seen like this. Also a badass door:

This one is totally wild. I found it in Browns CT on Capitol Hill and I believe it’s simply a converted garage. I think this is the first straight up garage, not carriage house, conversion I’ve ever seen. At first I thought it was part of a neighboring home but it has its own address. Wild, yeah?

Another great old school one from Capitol Hill. I was surprised to see bars on some of the windows – I sometimes forget that some phenomenal areas of the Hill today weren’t always so phenomenal. Great details too:
