Incredible building from Embassy row. The details always stop me dead in my tracks, though as has been noted before, it can use an upgrade to central air.

This is by far one of the most unusual/cool alley houses (behind Embassy Row on Mass. Ave.) Of course, we’ve admired the best spot for a morning cup of coffee or mojito before:

One of my all time favorites from Georgetown. Much like really cool fire escapes I find myself incapable of walking by without snapping a few photos.

Mt. Pleasant is home to some of my all-time favorite row houses.

Last two examples from Crestwood. Which one do you like better?

This house on Hopkins St, just off P St, NW in Dupont has one of the coolest turrets.

Plus there’s a wild sculpture out front that I’ve been looking forward to re-PoP:

Here are a couple of interesting ones from 16th St. Heights. I really like the style of the one above but I was also taken with the double wrap around porch below. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wrap around porch on the second floor of a home before:

Here’s another great one from North Country overlooking Carter Barron. Anyone know what this style is called? Here’s what that great big window looks onto:

A couple of readers have written in requesting some love for North Country. Fear not, I haven’t lost my love respect for those up north. On Sunday, I did a tour of some of my favorite spots in 16th St. Heights and Crestwood. I was first given the heads up about this house a year or so ago but it’s become one of my favorites. It’s near Carter Barron Colorado.

This one is pretty wild. It’s kinda like a carriage house but isn’t in the back. Do you think this was just a good looking garage back in the day?
