On October 3rd we first spoke about ‘South Capitol Hill’ “If you’re south of I-695, you’re in Navy Yard. Them’s the rules.” On October 5th Whole Foods doubled down. Now it’s in stone. Wait, is that bread made of quinoa? Game changed again.

Have you heard news about the Whole Foods construction on Florida Ave? The last I heard, they were scheduled to complete in Fall 2020, but it’s still not looking like much. I own a condo nearby, and was hoping to sell after the Whole Foods was finished, but I’m wondering if I should keep waiting or just sell now?“

Less than one day actually – opens at 9 am tomorrow!! Game changed.
Somebody was asking for an update about the old Glen’s Garden Market space in Shaw. Here’s the sign I spotted on the door for the coming Union Kitchen. Hours will be 7am-11pm – it’s something!! STAY TUNED.

Back in April 2015 the malodorous mystery first reared its ugly head on P Street. At that time DC Water told us it was due to a “clogged sewer line” and took a few days to fix. Perhaps the same issue?

I feel like we may be setting the bar a bit too low for game changing..though it could be a cool spot for lunch. T-9 days to opening.
Thanks to Michelle for sending the update. I mean if you’re gonna go for it, you might as well go all the way – I’m talking SoCap. SoCap. Sup SoCap? No, God Dang it, I can’t do it. Not even in jest.
Now having said all that, mark T-13 days to Thursday, October 18 – 9 am opening.

If I may – 1. I agree.
2. Whole Foods could call this area South East Shaw and people would still be excited about this opening.
3. I’d be curious to hear the perspective of the “Capitol Riverfront” on this one…
