One of my favorites in Mt. Pleasant. It’s actually got two levels going on plus a beloved banana plant.

I have great appreciation for those that make this effort to overcome a concrete walkway.

Not exactly a garden but I’ve noticing these trees blooming all over town. Anyone know what kind this is?

I think I tried to show this wild one in Mt. Pleasant before but it wasn’t in full effect. It is now officially in full effect.

On my last walkabout I noticed quite a few that had designs like these. Do you like this style with the rocks/gravel mixed in?

Here’s another great tree box but this one isn’t a banana tree – anyone know what type this is?

One of my favorite tree boxes from 10th St, NW north of Monroe.

Found this one on Rock Creek Church Road near the Old Soldiers Home. Well I’m super psyched to see the banana trees I’m also digging the vines around the porch.

I’m digging the natural look here from 13th St, NW.

As previously noted, I’ve been on a quest to document all the great banana plants around town. Thanks to a reader for sending in this great specimen. He writes:
“Here are our two, in our backyard 400 block of Irving St NW. The mother died in the snow storms but not before giving birth to our twins!”
