“Dear PoP,

Are you aware of any Halloween costume parties on Friday night?”

Do you guys have any recommendations specifically for Friday night? I’ve got a good one coming up in today’s 5pm post for Sat. but I haven’t heard too much about Friday night parties. What’s the good word?

Or will everyone be prepping Friday night for the Stewart/Colbert Rallies on the Mall? You can see a schedule of the festivities here.

If you’ve spotted some good ones (including jack o’lanterns) send a photo to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com and please include what neighborhood the decoration/jack o’lantern is from. This beauty is also from Capitol Hill.

Thanks to all for sending the reminder. From DCRA:

“The District’s 20 most popular street vendors will converge in downtown DC on October 7 and 8 for two full days of art, music, dance and of course the best food the vendors have to offer.

The Department of Consumer and Affairs (DCRA), in proud partnership with the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Brightest Young Things, and the Downtown BID, presents the city’s first annual Curbside Cookoff.

The event is being held at CityCenterDC, the site of the old Washington Convention Center, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on October 7 and 8. Admission is free and open to everyone.

Details including the vendors after the jump. (more…)

Despite all the awesome crafts at crafty bastards my favorite part is always the breakdancing. It didn’t disappoint this year either. Anyone else catch the breakdancing? I can’t believe how crowded the festival has gotten. Do you think they need to expand next year or is the size right?
