Tickets are available for the Takoma Trukgarten on Saturday, June 4th, from 12 noon – 5:00 pm! This one-day beer festival features local breweries pouring craft beers and cider: Silver Branch Brewing Co., Smoketown Brewing, Manor Hill Brewing, Streetcar 82, DC Brau, Peabody Heights Brewing Co, Union Craft Brewing, Anxo Cider, plus the Girl and the Vine, Zinnia, Takoma Bev Co. Each brewery will bring multiple beers.

“Whether you call it “the secret park” the “cave park” or the “alley park,” Crispus Attucks Park has served as an oasis for the Bloomingdale community for many years for community events, weddings, picnics, or moments of zen. The Crispus Attucks community is thrilled to bring back our annual Bloomingdale Community Day this Saturday, May 21!

After two years, Community Day is back and we’re thrilled to welcome both old and new friends back to the park for a day of fun to help support this community-run park (named after abolitionist of the same name) on May 21! The largest fundraising event for the park and join neighbors for food, musical acts, local vendors, children’s face painting, and most importantly the annual dog show!

LUMINARIA is a whimsical display of personalized bags honoring loved ones on Mother’s Day. You can purchase a LUMINARIA bags here, for $25 donation, in honor of a loved one or in memory of a loved one. 100% of the proceeds go to empowerHER programs for girls under the age of 23 who have lost their mothers, the programs and mentorships are offered at no charge to the girls and their families.

“DC’s favorite summer concert series is back! Every Friday from May 20 through July 22, our Sculpture Garden will come alive with musical performances ranging in style from jazz to Afro-Cuban and bluegrass.

On concert days, the Sculpture Garden will close from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.; gates will reopen at 5:00 p.m. and concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Registration is free but required for all attendees ages 2 and up. Registration opens at noon one week before each concert. (more…)
