I’ve been hearing lots of rumors about the former laundromat next to Red Derby at 14th and Quincy St, NW – pizza place, new bar, coffeehouse, other restaurants. But I haven’t been able to confirm any of them – so who would you like to see take over this space?
2010 18th Street, NW
I’ve been long wondering who will be moving into the retail space next to Peking Garden at 2010 18th St, NW. Turns out it will be a barbershop:
Back in March we learned that Sweet Diablo chocolate was coming to the small retail space just west of the Jos A Bank on M Street just west of 19th.
New signage is up:

Logan Circle will soon get another beer/wine buying option. A few weeks ago the extensively renovated Batch 13 opened up at 1724 14th St, NW. Looks like Logan Circle is gonna get one more option – Kazanchis Deli, located a block away at 1616 14th Street, NW (corner of 14th and Corcoran St, NW) has applied for a liquor license to sell beer and wine.
1721 Connecticut Ave, NW
The Ginza Japanese store located at 1721 Connecticut Ave, NW in north Dupont Circle is going out of business. I spoke with the owner who said everything is currently 20% off and they will remain open for a “couple more months”. It’s possible they may reopen in a new location but they have not found a new space at the moment.
I’ve always loved this store, I’ll be sad to see it go.
A Suitsupply store is coming to the corner of 29th and M St, NW (technically 2828 Pennsylvania Ave, NW.) Their Website says:

Pretty big scuttlebutt for the long vacant former holdout on the 400 block of Massachusetts Ave, NW. A good source tells me that it is very likely a 7-Eleven will be moving into the retail space at 433 Massachusetts Ave, NW.

Utopia Nails and Spa is coming to 3710 14th St, NW (at Quincy St.) a few storefronts down from the Red Derby.
