The Adidas/Reebok shuffle is now complete at 1251 Wisconsin Ave, NW. According to Washingtonian:

“In addition to selling apparel, ambassador Andrea Ferry says Reebok will host weekly and monthly workouts in the store and around the District with local personal trainers and instructors.”

I spoke with a worker at the store last night who confirmed today’s opening.

From Navy Yard ANC Rep David Garber:

“Happy to finally be able to announce that the entire second floor as well as one retail space of the Boilermaker Shops in The Yards DC will be taken by Ideaspace, a brand new concept for the tech and industrial design community in DC, where “members enjoy access to open work space, classes and experiential workshops, world-class speakers and events, as well as a state-of-the-art maker lab and wet lab.” Essentially, this will be a 16,000 square feet co-working space and event space, as well as a separate maker lab for building anything from robots, to hardware, to new product prototypes, to “DIY bio hacking” using the wet lab. Membership will start at $99/month, which makes it a pretty accessible place for a wide range of entrepreneurs and “makers.” So really, like nothing that currently exists in DC at this size and level.

Their goal right now is to open in the first quarter of 2014.”

In late August a reader wrote in asking why the shelves were so bare at AM Wine Shoppe in Adams Morgan. At the time a spokeswoman told us:

“The Shoppe usually is slim in August since the owner and wine buyer vacation the last two weeks, which coincides with a dip in customer traffic due to August vacations. The Shoppe will be stocking the shelves this week in order to get back to “par.”

As suspected by a few readers, turns out things were not that simple. The AM Wine Shoppe is closing October 7th:

“A.M. Wine Shoppe, which opened at the corner of 18th Street and Wyoming Avenue in January 2010, will close Monday, October 7th. Unfortunately, the owners could not come to an agreement with the Shoppe’s landlord that would allow them to extend their lease.

The owners are excited about the future, however, and look forward to focusing their efforts on new projects in the area.

The owners also want to thank the Adams Morgan community for supporting the Shoppe from its inception- our success over the past years can only be attributed to our loyal patrons and friends. Again, new neighborhood projects are currently being planned.

Please stop by A.M. Wine Shoppe on Sunday, October 6th, the last day of business, to say farewell.”
