“A great case of “what was the real estate agent thinking?” The photos are pretty bizarre , especially #6 (cookies on the stove?), #8 (wtf?), and #9 (not sure what’s going on here).”
You can see the full tour here. This 4 bed/2 bath is going for $630k.

From Apartment List’s Rentonomics blog:
“A 1 bedroom in the city of Washington DC averaged $1900 in March, while 2 bedrooms were $2830. This makes Washington DC the 3rd most expensive major US city, with a 2 bedroom price that’s almost triple the national average of $1000. Across the entire Washington DC metro area, rents averaged $2260 for a 2 bedroom, with renters paying 25% more to live in the city itself.”

A reader sends the letter above from 13th and Kennedy St, NW. His house is not for sale. Think it’s a genuine query from a couple wishing to move to DC or more of those standard “we’ll buy your house” letters?

I’ve gotten tons of emails about this one – so here ya go – this house is located at 3015 16th Street, Northeast. The Listing says:
“Brookland Gem, Beautiful Craftsman Style completely renovated detached 4 Br 4.5 Bath, tons of natural light, Gourmet kit w/high end SS Kitchen Aid Appl, Brazilian Koa flooring, Huge Mstr suite w/walk in closet, Front loader W/D, Large Bsmt w/wetbar, large Bdrm w/full bath, fully automated smart home w/audio/video/intercom/alarm system and spacious backyard/huge deck, 3 car + off str parking.”

The 4 bed/4.5 bath is going for $1,050,000.

“Dear PoPville,
This corner (5th and Q) used to belong to a house with an attached, street-facing garage — a major rarity in the area. (it also used to be the epicenter of a local gang turf war! fun facts!) The developers originally won permission to build 8 units, as I recall, but instead built 4 luxury spaces — and, as you can see, are trying to sell them for nearly $1.5 million each! Ed. Note: You can see a virtual tour here.
I guess my question is: who is this for? Some foreign potentate’s children studying at Georgetown Law? Are Russian oligarchs running out of Manhattan and London apartments to buy up? Is there a market, in Shaw, for apartment-homes that cost this much? The list price has many of us in the neighborhood scratching our heads.”
