Whoa – a reader passes on from DCRA:

“A transfer of ownership was approved to 520 Florida Avenue Restaurant LLC for Shaw’s Tavern’s license on Wednesday, March 11; however, the license has not yet been issued. Several outstanding documents still need to be provided to ABRA, including a certificate of occupancy, before the license can be issued to the new owner.”

The reader says the new ownership group are the same folks who own Front Page, located in Dupont at 1333 New Hampshire Ave, NW. Updates when more info is known.

Cantina Marina announced new free shuttle service to and from Nationals Park

“Cantina Marina also announced a new complimentary shuttle service for patrons to and from Nationals Park on home game days. The shuttle will run from one hour before games through the 2nd inning, then resume from the 8th inning until 30 minutes after game. Anyone is welcome with proof of purchase at Cantina Marina. Please visit their website for details: www.cantinamarina.com.

Cantina Marina, located at 600 Water St. SW, is officially open for the 2015 season. Hours of operation are Sunday – Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday – Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Bar hours are usually 1-2 hours later depending on weather. Closed Mondays in March.”

6th and H Bar and Grill opening in April

Good news for sports fans on the eastern end of H Street. I stopped in 6th and H Bar and Grill and was told they’ll be opening in April. The space was completely photo ready but I can tell you it is dominated by huge bar with tons of tvs every foot or so spanning the entire wall. There was also lots of soccer regalia and other sports memorabilia. Frankly it looks like a perfect sports bar – stay tuned for an exact opening date.
