Adams Morgan represent! The First Lady and some Congressional Spouses will be painting a mural with students from the nearby Sitar Center. Super cool. Stay tuned for photos after the event.

First graffiti art in Georgetown and now a little risqué call box art in Kalorama. My preconceptions are getting shattered…

This is actually next door to the house of the day (see below). I’m surprised this doesn’t violate some historic Georgetown rules.

I finally got to check out the newly installed sculptures on New York Ave between 12th and 13th Streets, NW (outside the Women’s Museum). I think they are fantastic. I’m told one more is being installed today, stay tuned for that one.
What do you think of these – thumbs up or down? Have a favorite?

Lots more photos after the jump. (more…)

This is the first sculpture I’ve seen in an old call box that wasn’t from Mt. Pleasant. This one is from Kalorama.

Scenic Artisan spotted this classic and writes:
“a call box design at 15th and f streets NW
it appears to be a man in drag pleading his case to the British officer why Rhodes tavern should not be burned.
also, the flag at the top is even more pixilated than my photo show.”

Bourbon on 18th Street continues to produce the most incredible chalk art in the city. You can find the last example here.

My all time favorite house numbers from Adams Morgan.
