Got to love the mini houses. Interestingly there is another one almost directly across the street (I think I featured it back in the day). They are located in Shaw on 10th Street if memory serves.

This has to be the craziest contrast in styles I’ve ever seen. This is from Mass. Ave east of Dupont Circle. The building on the left is the Uzbekistan Embassy and the modern styled one on the right is the Institute of International Economics. Wow. What do you think of them individually? And next to each other? Super cool or a tragedy?

Here’s a real modern one I spotted off Tilden. Thumbs up or down?

This house in and of itself isn’t so unusual but it is located in alley which I thought was pretty cool. Looked like it was getting renovated too. I do think it’d be cooler with some windows on the side…

Thanks to a reader for sending. He writes:

“Here’s a shot of the house on 9th between Webster and Allison I told you about. The lot has been empty since 2003, and probably long before that. A month or so ago they started excavating the site, and already they’re at this point. It looks like it will be two house, attached on the left and detached on the right. Not much new construction in this area, so it’s interesting. I don’t know why they chose now to do it unless they were so far along in the process they didn’t want to stop.

Update on construction. They’re using real brick and really going fast.”

This house is flying up. I know some folks feel strongly about brick. What do you think – thumbs up or down?

Man, I’ve been meaning to show this deck for a long time. Worth the wait?
