Some might call me a gentle giant, others might call me a silent softie. Either way, they would be right. My name is Johnny and I am pretty easy to please. I like plushy toys, chilling out at home with my people, and leisurely (but not necessarily long) walks. As far as dogs go, I’m calm, cool, and collected. My charming good looks make it pretty easy to get people’s attention. A home with some awesome humans to snuggle up with and no other animals would be my happy place.

Like I said, I am pretty calm, so I am very easy to walk and follow directions well. As long as there is something comfy to lie on, I can easily hang out in my crate for a couple hours. I am loyal and love the people who love me, so I try really hard to be a good boy. I am also very smart and have mastered the art of opening doors.

Some of my superpowers include letting my people know when I need to use the bathroom and always doing it outside, magically and quietly appearing in whatever room you are in, and being very relaxed on car rides. If you’d like to come meet me, email my foster parent at [email protected]. As an added bonus, if you’re over 50, my adoption fee is waived as part of the Boomer’s Buddies program! Standard adoption procedures apply. Learn more here.

Gosh, I can’t believe it! My dear owner had to move and couldn’t take me along. But I’m a really adaptable kind of guy with kitten-like energy so I’m looking for a wonderful new home. I will happily curl up in bed with you and join you on the couch while you read. To show you that I get along with everybody, I can tell you that I’ve lived happily with children (young and older), adults, and even dogs and another cat. So, you see, I’m a great candidate for a forever home where I can look out windows and climb my cat tree. As an added bonus, if you’re over 50, my adoption fee is waived as part of the Boomer’s Buddies program! Standard adoption procedures apply. If you’d like to meet me, please contact my foster mom at [email protected]! Learn more here.

Say hello to Hope, a true representative of her name. Hope was recently rescued from an unacceptable outdoor living situation. Her rescue team at Gray Face Acres is helping her overcome the medical issues she suffered as a result of her past, and she’s now gaining health and confidence to bring to her new, indoor home! Hope is 11 years old and is very good on leash and in the car. She does well with other dogs, but does not like cats. Hope is sweet and affectionate, and she continues to blossom thanks to the loving care she’s receiving from her foster family. This resilient lady will be a wonderful pet who is truly appreciative of the good life – if you’d like to share that good life with her, please find out more about Hope here.

Meet Melody! This pretty little girl with the cauliflower ear (and cauliflower is *perfect* this time of year!) is looking for a new furever home, as her person had to go into assisted living. Melody is about 3 years old, in good overall health, and is up to date on all her vaccinations. While she can be a little shy at first, once she warms up, Melody is a great snuggler who loves to give and receive affection! She has not yet been tested with other pets, but her easygoing nature suggests she’d fit into any loving home, given enough time and patience. Melody has a lot of love to give – if you’re interested in making this pawsome lady a part of your family, check out her adoption page here.

**Volunteer Note** – Have you adopted a pet from AdoPtville? Are you a current pet foster parent? If so, we want to give thanks to you in a special AdoPtville Thanksgiving post. Please email about your adoption / foster story to [email protected]. And thank you to everyone who supports AdoPtville and the all of the DMV’s pets in need.

Adorable Cedric has lots of energy, and he expends it in wiggles and playfulness! He is overjoyed when his people come home, and he likes to be a little shadow following them around the house. Cedric is a very loving dog who likes to get on his hind legs and give hugs. This playful pup has never been known to turn down a game of fetch or a good chew toy. What a cutie! Apply today to meet Cedric through City Dogs Rescue.

Kevin is perfect in every way. This white and orange charmer enjoys cuddling as well as playing; either by himself, with toys, with you, or other cats and kittens. He’s quite playful, but in a gentle and easygoing way, so if you have a kitty of any age in need of company, Kevin is a purrfect choice.

When Kevin is very happy, he loves to make biscuits on your blanket and he’s also keen on cuddling up in a warm lap. He enjoys standing up to look out the windows, when he isn’t napping or playing.

In short, Kevin is an awesome companion looking for his forever home, and it’s amazing no one has snapped him up yet. To meet him is to love him, see for yourself by applying now.
