D’oh! While there were reports of enforcement witnessed this is quite the picture. Thanks to Andrew for sending at 9am this morning:

“I don’t think this is how these new red bus lanes on I St. NW are supposed to work…

Seems to still be some confusion…the sign says right-turns are OK, but how about when there are bus stops at the same corner? Then again, DC isn’t known for having the clearest signage…”

Ed. Note: These dedicated bus lanes are set for AM Peak: 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM
PM Peak: 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM. Since this was the first day hopefully continued enforcement will help work out the kinks. If this is indeed a kink.

From MPD Saturday:

“Last night [Friday], members of the Fifth District Crime Suppression Team executed a search warrant on a marijuana pop up event in the 2200 block of 25th Place, NE. The event was widely advertised and well attended. Officers arrested 30 distributors, seized pounds of marijuana and THC containing products from 28 vendors, seized over $10,000 in US Currency and recovered 3 firearms! 5D CST definitely deserves a round of applause for their efforts to keep our streets safe!”

If you spot a hawk or any interesting wildlife around town, lunching or otherwise, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted it to [email protected] and I’ll add it to the queue. Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.

And speaking of metro:

“RIDERSHIP: As of 12:00 p.m., over 351K people have taken Metrorail so far today, up more than 78K from same time yesterday. We’re running continuous rush-hour service through this evening. No operational issues to report at this time.”

Thanks to Rob for sending:

“Spotted inside the Giant at 8th and O NW on Wednesday afternoon. He just scooted right on in through the front door and up to the hot bar! Totally normal!”
