Local home renovation startup remodelmate has figured out how to get you a new bathroom from at least 6 feet away. The app that lets homeowners “Push a button, get a bathroom” has a special offer during this unique time.

How it Works

1Build Your Bathroom Online: Answer two questions about your project — where and what — then get final pricing instantly. No telephone tag with contractors or meetings at your home, just to get a price.

2. Work With Your Concierge: Your project Concierge will send you a link to do a 3D scan of your bathroom with your smartphone — remodelmate automatically gets your scan when you’re done and they use it to help you get plans, permits and materials for your new bathroom.

3. Book Now, Build Later: For $100 you can lock in their lowest prices ever (up to $2,000 off) and defer installation for up to one year.

Commuter Connections, the regional network of transportation organizations coordinated by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, continues to offer all of its usual services during this time of crisis, including the Guaranteed Ride Home for those enrolled in the transit or carpool or vanpool programs.

In addition to the usual requirements — such as setting up an account — face coverings are required for transit and guaranteed ride homes until further notice. Your safety and the safety of the driver are important.

For professionals on the rise, an MBA is a key credential. But while an MBA may help launch the next stage of a career, few are willing to put everything on hold to obtain one. Staying on top of course work while holding down a job and meeting personal obligations is challenging at best.

“Students nowadays aren’t willing to go to school to earn an MBA on a full-time basis and forego the economic benefits of a full-time job,” says Dr. Parviz Ghandforoush, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business.

That’s one of the reasons why business schools like Pamplin have developed an alternative: hybrid MBA program options that combine the flexibility of online courses with the in-person interaction of a traditional MBA.

Online collaboration and discussion modules give students flexibility to access coursework whenever and wherever they are located. In-person class lectures offer hands-on learning, face-to-face discussions and substantive interaction with instructors and classmates.
