Ok, I’m changing the rules. You don’t have to write what you think I was thinking when I took the photo. I’ll simplify – funniest caption wins. Free PoP t-shirt if you don’t have one or a pint of beer if you do. I’ll pick the winner Friday.

One of the owners, Mike Wilkinson, tells me that Pete’s “is introducing a Happy Hour from 3:30 to 6:30, seven days a week. Slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza and a pint of beer for $5.” Holy cow that is awesome. Although it seems like people are just trying to torture me knowing that I work until 6pm. Ah, but it’s seven days a week, so you now know where you can catch me on Sundays. For those who haven’t been there yet Pete’s is located right above the Columbia Heights metro on the western exit.

This has got to be the best name plate ever seen in the city and possibly in the entire continental United States. Fastidious accounting service. Well, is there any other kind? And I don’t know why but the fact that his last name is Redhead just makes it all the more sweet. Aren’t redheads known for being anything but fastidious?

My cohort Intangible Arts wrote a great post last week about Mayorga’s new menu. You should check it out if you haven’t read it yet. And as I was walking by I also saw that they are celebrating a new salad bar and fresh juice bar. Do you think Mayorga will become more of a restaurant rather than a lounge now. I also saw that they will stop offering Wifi after 4pm. That kind of sucks, no?

The owner writes:
“as a gift to our community, quiet mind yoga is now offering a weekly, revolving FREE class for everyone to enjoy!
this week’s free community class is wednesday, june 11th at 8:00 pm with jewel greenberg: www.quietminddc.com/free_class.html

note…
to be sure that everyone has a chance to enjoy the community class, there are no online reservations available. we ask that students arrive at the studio a little early to ensure a spot in class. the studio can comfortably fit up to 25 students. thank you!”
Quiet Mind Yoga is up on 14th Street in North Columbia Heights. That’s pretty cool they offer a free class. Now, they just need to work on that sign…

This house has fully embraced the wild garden. Nicely done.

Well since there was a significant debate over this the other day, I found another from my archives. Can this one be identified. Not as much of a rounded snout…pretty vicious looking nonetheless.

While I have nearly exhausted all of the cool doors in the city I still find a few cool ones from time to time. So fear not, I shan’t abandon the door of the day for too long. I suppose this is more of a cool doorway of the day but still pretty sick, yeah?

New Orleans Style.

This house is a beaut. I can’t tell if it will be residential or commercial or both. Doesn’t the windows in the front make it look like there will be some commercial as well? The brick is great though, yeah?
