Does the fact that it’s detached increase the value? It’s kind of small at 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. So is $535,000 a good deal or not?
I’ve always been a fan of HR 57 (on 14th St. just north of Q) and Bohemian Caverns (at 11th and U). Any fans of Vegas Lounge? Where’s your favorite spot?
“Take these “DC Law. Yield to Pedestrians in Crosswalk” signs along Sherman, New Hampshire, and Georgia. Do you think they pose more of a risk to people trying to cross. I find myself in situations where a car will stop allowing me to cross; however, another behind it swerves around it to get by, almost hitting me in the process. Do these actually hinder or help the situation?”
Whenever I encounter these signs they always scare the hell out of me. Do you think they’re helpful?
The Bloomingdale Farmer’s Market is located at 1st and R Streets NW on Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
For the second year in a row, the Bloomingdale Farmer’s Market provided an awesome venue for Les Petits Chanteurs from Haiti. Usually my trips to the Sunday market are quick, but the singers and the accompanying pig roast provided good reason to hang around. This year, in addition to the choir, a group of drummers from Uruguay provided an energetic interlude.
Later in the evening, more roasted pig was consumed in honor of the belated one year anniversary celebration for the Big Bear Café, which is located adjacent to the Farmer’s Market.
Anyone else check them out?
I noticed this poster for sale on Columbia Road in Adams Morgan. You know, this is the little “market” on the sidewalk outside the church where you can get books, socks, and apparently college dorm collages. How awesome would it be to have this random collage of random folks hanging in your home? Or do I just have a bizarre sense of humor? I can’t believe I didn’t buy it… dibs if it’s still there next weekend!
Is Petworth becoming a cyclists’ heaven? Lots of bike lanes going in – a few weeks ago it was 5th St. and now 7th St. Can 9th St. be far behind?

Columbia Heights Coffee is hosting some sketches from some murals on Georgia Ave. Sadly I only recognize one.
Basia Bulat? I don’t know her work but I’m fairly certain she will rawk! Always nice to see an old photo of Woody Allen as well. I dare you to look at the Woody Allen photo and not break a smile…
