I kind of dig the balcony and the yellow as well. What do you think: thumbs up or down?

I noticed this sign when I was walking around the H Street area. (This sign was actually spotted on Maryland Ave a couple blocks away from H Street.) Pretty cool sign by the by. Do you think there is opposition because folks would rather have a grocery store or something like that? Would you oppose a new gas station near your home?
I can empathize. If a new business were coming to near my home I think a gas station would probably be near last on the list next to a wig store…

Often folks are saying that for prices in Logan Circle etc they’d rather purchase west of the park, so I figured it’s about time I test that theory. The flier for this home at 2635 Woodley Place in Woodley Park says:
“Lovely 5BR 4.5 Bath Wardman TH w/ crown molding, wainscoting, skylights, marble baths, HWD, FP, French Doors leading to Huge deck, MBR with private deck with park vistas, fully finished in-law suite on lower level. Off street parking through the alley. Property is in great shape but being sold as-is.”
More details and photos found here. So after looking at the photos do you think $1,200,000 is a good deal or not? Or would you rather get a huge rowhome in Columbia Heights or a luxury Condo in Logan Circle?

You know what I mean. The restaurant that you’ll go to for celebrations – birthdays, anniversaries, new jobs etc. My all time favorite is Obelisk on P Street off Dupont Circle. It is in a row house and the menu changes daily. Ridiculously good. You’ll need reservations in advance as the seating is limited. So what’s your go to celebration spot?
Here were the recommendations for best tapas, bar to watch football, wine bar, Chinese, Latino/Mexican, hidden restaurants, Italian, Sushi, Indian, falafel, Ethiopian, and Middle Eastern.

Crafty Bastards
Between the Fiesta DC festival in Mt. Pleasant and the Crafty Bastards event at the Marie Reed Community Center, the streets of Adams Morgan seemed unusually busy this past weekend.
Wall Street might be teetering on the brink of collapse but judging from the crowds at the annual Crafty Bastards event, investment bankers fallen on hard times might consider future careers as artisans.
The brilliantly named Crafty Bastards festival is now in its fifth year and seems to get bigger and better each time.
The Craft Fair
While many simply enjoy Crafty Bastards for bringing a lively festival atmosphere to the neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon, the craft fair itself is serious business with nearly 147 booths out to displaying and selling crafty-creations.
Some were full-time artists who make their living from this – a group of artists drove down from Brooklyn especially for the event. For others their craft is a hobby and the Crafty Bastards event offered a great opportunity to put their products out in front of the public and gauge the reaction – verbal in the form of discussion with potential customers and financial in the form of actual sales.
The scale of the event (it’s massive) means it’s hard to do a proper summary of the goods on offer – there was simply too much to take it all in.
In addition to the usual mix of t-shirts, knit-wear, hand-made note cards, jewelry and kids clothes and toys I spotted some pretty cool puppets of various descriptions, some saucy ladies undergarments, customized luggage and loads more. Post continues after the jump with more photos at the end. If anyone else attended – what was your favorite part of Crafty Bastards? Do you like it better than Adams Morgan Day? (more…)
I noticed one way Petworth was keeping it green.
I noticed ‘DC Ballot Box’ was plastered over garbage cans around town.
Give me some suggestions as to the colors. Like last time they will be American Apparel in both men and women’s cut.
Check out this link for what I’m thinking. A bit more colorful than last time. I’m also thinking about green or yellow shirts but let me know your preferences.
