Thanks to Emily for writing in, “normally there’s a fee for “bad parking” (locking the bike to a bike rack, leaving it on the sidewalk). If the intended dock is full, you can leave it parked “badly” with no additional fee” and passing on from Capital Bikeshare yesterday:

“Rolling up to a full station at the end of a ride can throw off your whole flow. You’ve arrived at your destination, but now you’re circling the block, trying to figure out where to lock up to avoid the out-of-station fee. You told us you needed more flexibility, so we built a better way to wrap up your ride.

A new perk, just for members.

Starting today, Capital Bikeshare members can park ebikes near full or nearly full docking stations for free.

1802 14th Street, NW previously home to a Lou Lou Boutique

“Pitango Gelato, the authentic Italian gelateria and coffee shop with locations throughout the Washington, DC, region and Baltimore, is thrilled to officially announce the opening of a highly anticipated new shop along DC’s 14th Street corridor. The store, opening on February 27th at 1802 14th Street, NW, is Pitango’s eighth location. The new gelateria and coffee shop will serve freshly brewed coffee, Italian baked goods, and artisanal, hand-spun gelato made with high-quality, carefully curated ingredients. The 1,027-square-foot space, designed by EastWing Architects, will also offer indoor seating for up to 10 guests.
