Hopefully the warm weather will make this a more regular feature. This one is phenomenal. It is from the arm of Patrick, a bartender at Red Derby. The tattoo is of “Hotie”, the patron saint of fortune tellers, bartenders and prostitutes. Legend has it this was a real person who lived in Japan and always carried around a satchel filled with food that he gave to the poor.

Last week was a rough one. I’m gonna steer things back to the Beautiful Life this week. This mural is from upper 14th Street just south of the gas station.

And don’t forget the first PoPville cleanup is going to be Saturday, April 25th.

This is a great big standalone house with a sweet wrap around porch but what I really liked were the dormers up top. Do you like the contrasting colors?

Sorry for the limited picks this week but I was out of town and wasn’t able to organize my emails. Continue to send your picks for next week. Even though it’s only one pick, this sounds phenomenal.

DATE/TIME: Saturday, April 11, 8 pm – 2 am.

This is located off Rhode Island Ave. in Bloomingdale. I dig this corner lots. And of course I’m also a fan of fire escapes. Don’t you dig the fire escape?

I once asked if these buildings were posh new condos or soviet style barracks? Well after looking at the photos inside it is definitely pretty posh. What do you guys think of the inside. The new price for this rowhome just squeaks under house porn ($1 million) – it can be yours for $995,000. Any fans out there?

From the discussion on the restaurant La Carbonara. Genius.

“I can explain the Ethiopia to Mexico link. “Shaft in Africa” starring Richard Roundtree was partially filmed in Ethiopia. Richard Roundtree was in “Boat Trip” with Stephen M. Porter, who was in “Rails & Ties” with Kevin Bacon and Jim Cody Williams. Jim Cody Williams was in “Traffic” with Salma Hayak- one of the greatest Mexican born international stars today, and the film was also filmed partially in Mexico. Therefore, Ethiopia=Mexico.”
