Mad props to my friend Dave for sending me this photo. Back when I toured the Brookland area I heard about this mythical “circle” house. We walked up and down dozens of blocks looking for it. I was convinced it didn’t exist. But then I got the greatest simple text of a photo saying – 10th and Irving NE. Awesome!

I Finally Found Crispus Attucks Park

Well folks have been telling me about this park for ages and I always wondered, given all my walkabouts in Bloomingdale, why I never encountered it. Now I know why – it’s only accessible through an alley. I was lucky enough to stop at Big Bear for a coffee and there was a community yard sale being advertised with directions to Crispus Attucks Park. It’s located via the alley between 1st Street and North Captiol and V St and U St. And it is awesome!

I particularly liked the memory garden:

And you get to gaze at this:

Beautiful! Check it out next time you’re wandering around Bloomingdale.

Judging New Row Houses

I really enjoy watching the progress of homes that are being built from the ground up. This one is located at 2121 11th Street, NW and seems very promising. It looks like it’s going to have a nice third floor balcony:

Judging Restaurants – Yellow House

I’ve often wondered about this restaurant located on the 600 block of T Street, NW near the Howard Theater and Florida Ave. I couldn’t find anything about it on the web. I’m guessing it’s either super incredible or terrible. Anyone ever check this spot out?

Chef Folkman, debuting on Food Network’s The Next Food Network Star on June 7th, will unveil a menu that touches both on his celebrated dishes at Granville Moore’s and Capitol Lounge’s classic pub fare. Dedicated to enhancing the Capitol Lounge dining experience, Chef Folkman brings his own signature style and pedigree to a block that already boasts the likes of Food Network’s own Spike Mendelsohn of Good Stuff Eatery and Barton Seaver of Sonoma. He formally assumes the role of Executive Chef on June 8th, 2009 with a new menu launching that week.
