“Dear PoPville,

A solo Saturday night dinner at Pho75 (right around 7:45-close) with a new podcast was my plan after a full week of family, friends and food. You were the most pleasant table mate (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was wondering if anyone in the area, either on Upshur St NW or in the alley between Upshur and Varnum Streets were able to catch anyone or any noise overnight. This car is my father’s main mode of transportation to and from work, since he works in construction. My father is an immigrant from El Salvador, and he worked very hard to be able to purchase this car. Understandably, this is frustrating for him and for us. It’s our first time having to deal with this.

I would respectfully ask anyone who has any video or audio recording to please send it to Officer Keton Valcin at [email protected], referencing CCN# 25-149-549. (more…)

“2AM Project’s mission is to make late night food more diverse because let’s face it— most menus past midnight are just selling you 15 different ways to say “cheeseburger”.

Thanks to Jeremy for sharing: “Something new coming to the former &pizza space in Columbia Heights – seems like a late night food spot.”

Ed. Note: After my 12 mile walkabout yesterday, I can confirm SO many streateries down. Frankly just too many to catalogue each one, so unless there is something especially noteworthy about another removal, so concludes our ‘Streatery Down’ coverage. (Most) Streateries are dead, long live outdoor dining (and perhaps streateries again one day! – minus the global pandemic and all…)

We’ve seen a lot of streateries come down by now but it still stings. Thanks to Jim for sending from Stoney’s on P Street: (more…)

Thanks to Kelley for sending: “Feeling very lucky to get to watch this guy have an early Christmas feast while teleworking. On I and 2nd NE!

Looks like just a little guys! He could be immature? Would love to know what sorta hawk if the community knows! :)”

Cooper’s or Red Tailed? Sounds like a Cooper’s from Bird Fact:

“One of the most obvious differences between the cooper’s hawk and the red-tailed hawk is their size. (more…)
