Against all odds the Brightwood Bird has won a stunning upset. We have seen some unbelievably cool cats and dogs but this bird has a certain je ne sais quoi. So congratulations Bird. And to the owners, you have won a PoP t-shirt. Cheers.
So maybe this is just in Chinatown, but I’m terrified of the GreenPeace solicitors. I certainly support those who wish to combat global warming but the fine folks from GreenPeace are far more aggressive than any panhandlers I’ve ever encountered. In Chinatown they work in twos and basically block the sidewalk and follow you for about 20 feet or so until finally in a fit of aggravation I say, “I voted for George Bush, God Damn it!”. I voted for Gore and Kerry just for the record. But, hell, these people are insane. I just want my PotBelly’s sandwich man. That’s all, let me through. A friend of mine just told me in the age of the internet that soliciting on the street is pretty ridiculous. And I agree. So the Friday question of the day is: Do you think the fine folks from GreenPeace are too aggressive in their soliciting campaign on the streets of DC?
These are some brand new homes that claim to be historically inspired. But you can see toward the end of the photo just how much they clash with the actual historical homes. Am I wrong. Check out the sign claiming historical inspiration after the jump. (more…)
How come I’ve only seen them in the U Street area? Are there no historical houses in Columbia Heights and Petworth? I mean Lincoln loved Petworth right, that’s historic?
I feel like this is the mailbox of the greatest generation. Does that make sense?
Well, it’s easy to lock up I guess. But who on earth is going to steal a unicycle? I mean that takes mad skills to steal, no? Or at least steal and get away with it…
