And it is a sign befitting a great organization! Located at 3619 Georgia Ave. across the street from LGL in the old Mario’s Pizza spot. You can donate your old computers there. You can visit their Web site here.
From the Web site: “First Time Computers collects used computers, fixes them up, and donates them to eligible families and groups.”

“My favorite place in DC is my apartment and more specifically my rocking backyard! Now my roommate and I did a massive search for an affordable apartment in D.C. which led us to Petworth…and where the hell was that?! Well, we love our neighborhood – right across from Rock Creek Cemetery which is a really beautiful place and down the street from restaurants like Domku, but not as much as our apartment which is spacious and every room has a different vibrant and feng shui’ed color. I’ve decorated with awesomely kitschy gold lamps, candles, posters and more candles much to my roommate’s amusement. I am kinda in love with my apartment and the fact that we have a gated backyard that means i can look out the windows and not see a rank alleyway but green trees. In fact, my roommate’s fiancee picked the backyard to propose to her, so she can look out and think of that moment everyday. It’s great breath of fresh air for me in this city, and when i dont feel like fresh air we’ll go down and have a cigarette :)”

Props all around for this photo. A reader sent me this link from Flickr, so thanks Andrew. And it turns out it is a photo from one of my favorite bloggers and the author of PoP’s Intangible Tales – Intangible Arts who has done his own post on this photo here. The fact that they couldn’t fit all the shutters is just too funny. If I were one to build a house, this is exactly the mistake I would make.

I love this sign. This hospital can be found in Shaw. Although, I think it may be an art gallery now…but I don’t know for sure.
A while ago I shared our little secret of mice in the neighborhood. So I got a cat, Dingo, and since I got Dingo I haven’t seen any more mice. Now I was sitting on my porch the other day and I saw a stray cat walk by with a mouse in its mouth. And I thought – awesome! Why don’t we let nature run its course. Now don’t get me wrong, I like my cat and I’m glad Dingo has a nice home but would it be so wrong if we had dozens of cats on the street to take care of our mice problem? Wait, would we then have a cat problem?

Holy cow, you could eat off of this alley. I suppose there are no houses facing this alley but this is one damn clean alley. Check out my alley after the jump. (more…)

This is for Bogfrog: I’ll re-ask the question – In the hierarchy of roof decks, balconies, and porches which reigns supreme?

Best interpretation of this photo wins a free PoP t-shirt. It reminds me of the build up to the war in Iraq.

You know you love this one. I bet they make great lemonade here…
