From Craigslist:

“GCDC, Grilled Cheese DC, is hiring a General Manager to lead the charge for DC’s newest restaurant. gcdc is a new fast-casual meets wine bar concept with the goal of bringing the perfect grilled cheese sandwich to the DC metro area. We are looking to hire a General Manager who has the following credentials: proven leader, team builder, energetic and enthusiasm for people and food, fast-casual experience and desire to grow with a new company.

The quality of our product is our top priority and will be achieved by using fresh local ingredients, innovative technology, and uniform precision. Our objective is to provide a new alternative to typical fast food that offers a superior tasting product at comparable speed and price, while offering a healthier more enjoyable experience. gcdc will offer an exciting menu of perfectly cooked gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade soups, “tater tots,” and an array of different and healthy beverages. Fruits and vegetables will be fresh and local. Cheeses and meats will come from high-end local vendors. Cheese plates, wine, beer and charcuterie will be our focus starting around 4pm daily as we look to appeal to the White House, World Bank and business community in our neighborhood as the local gathering place each evening.

GCDC will be opening at the end of 2013 and will be located one block from the White House at 1730 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
