Ben’s Chili Bowl Expansion Updates – Coming to National Airport and Applies for Liquor License on H Street

From Ben’s Chili Bowl:

“There are some new food options coming to Reagan National Airport and I am happy to say that Ben’s Chili Bowl will be one of them! The deal is done and we are working hard on a design that will bring the food and flavor of U Street to National Hall in the airport. This new location will be just to the right of Terminal B (the center terminal) and will be pre-security so regardless of what airline you are flying or if you are taking a trip at all, everyone will have access to Ben’s Chili Bowl at National Airport. And we will have plenty of seats for customers to dine-in as well as carry-out that can go through security and be carried on the plane.

Look out for Ben’s at DCA around May of 2014.”

And at the corner of 10th and H St, NE – Ben’s has applied for a liquor license:

“Restaurant serving American style food with 191 seats and occupancy load of 266. Summer Garden with 44 seats. Sidewalk café with 38 seats.”

Hours of operation hope to be Sunday through Thursday 6 am -2 am and Friday & Saturday 6 am – 4 am.

Ed. Note: Last week we learned of some scuttlebutt that Ben’s planned to open an Arlington location as well.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
