From WMATA:

“There is no scheduled work this weekend on the Blue, Yellow or Green lines. Trains on these lines will operate at normal weekend intervals, with Yellow Line trains operating to/from Fort Totten.

Red Line 10 p.m. Fri., June 21 through closing Sun., June 23
Buses replace trains between Forest Glen & Rhode Island Ave

Red Line trains will operate as follows:

Between Shady Grove & Rhode Island Ave – Every 10 minutes 9AM-9PM and regular weekend intervals (every 15-20 minutes) at other times
Between Forest Glen & Glenmont – Every 10 minutes 9AM-9PM and regular weekend intervals (every 15-20 minutes) at other times

Free shuttle buses will replace Red Line trains between Rhode Island Ave & Forest Glen to allow for ongoing platform reconstruction, tie replacement, drainage improvements, communication system upgrades and track maintenance.

Stations closed: Brookland, Takoma & Silver Spring. (Fort Totten open for Green & Yellow only.)

Shuttle buses will operate continuously between Forest Glen & Rhode Island Ave on two routes:

Limited-stop buses will operate between Forest Glen and Rhode Island Ave stations, with one stop at Silver Spring. Add up to 40 minutes of travel time.
Local buses will operate between Forest Glen & Rhode Island Ave, with intermediate stops at Silver Spring, Takoma, Fort Totten and Brookland stations. Add 10 minutes of travel time for each station stop. For example, if traveling from Brookland to Rhode Island Avenue, add 10 minutes for one stop. If traveling from Fort Totten to Forest Glen should add 30 minutes because the bus makes three stops.”

Continues after the jump.

Orange Line 10 p.m. Fri., June 21 through closing Sun., June 23
New Carrollton and Landover stations only

Orange Line trains will operate at normal weekend service intervals between Vienna & Cheverly stations. Normal weekend intervals are every 12 minutes during daytime hours and every 15-20 minutes at other times.

Due to a single-track work zone between Cheverly & New Carrollton, every other Orange Line train will run between Vienna and Cheverly only, rather than between Vienna and New Carrollton. Crews will be performing extensive track maintenance, including tie, fastener and insulator renewal.

As a result, passengers traveling to or from Landover or New Carrollton stations ONLY may experience travel times up to 15 minutes longer than normal.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
