Man Shot in the 5300 Block of 14th Street, NW

“At 5:58 pm members of the Fourth District received a call for a unconscious male in the rear of the 5300 block of 14th St. NW. Upon arrival, an adult male victim was located suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The scene is currently under investigation. There is no lookout at this time.”

Update from MPD:

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 5300 block of 14th Street, Northwest.

On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at approximately 5:58 pm, patrol units from the Fourth District responded to the 5300 block of 14th Street, Northwest, for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded and determined the victim had no signs consistent with life. Members of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead. The remains of the decedent were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending a determination of cause and manner of death.

The decedent has not been positively identified.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
