There’s no better way to celebrate Tax Day than with free whisky, and Jack Rose is hosting the first US launch party for England’s newest distillery in 100+ years, the English Whisky Company, and giving away free whisky from 5-7pm. One of the only places in DC to carry the new whisky, Jack Rose will pour tastings of four single-malt and cask-strength whiskies which are batch-made by hand at St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, England. English Whisky Company whiskies will include:

Classic Single Malt
Peated Single Malt
Classic Cask-Strength
Peated Cask-Strength

BLT Steak is taking the stress out of Tax Day by offering 50% off all alcoholic beverages – cocktails, beer and wines by the glass and bottle – during lunch and dinner on Monday, April 15. Everything ranging from their new spring cocktails like the Cocchi Monster with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Cocchi Americano, Cointreau and Lemon Juice, barrel aged cocktails and fine champagnes – are all half-off all day from 11:30am-2:30pm and 5:30pm-10:30pm. Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
