Woman Found Dead in Grace Deli at 7th and H St, NE

“D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman who was found dead this morning in a deli near the H Street NE corridor.

At this point, they are considering robbery as a possible motive.”

Shortly before 6:30 AM, members of the First District were on patrol when they were flagged down in the 700 block of H Street NE. Officers entered a business establishment and located an unconscious adult female inside. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services was requested, responded to the scene and determined that death was apparent. Members of the Homicide Branch initiated an investigation and the decedent was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The location where the occurred is 701 H St NE, Grace Deli, which was not open for business at the time. MPD Public Information Office will issued a press release after the victim’s family has been notified and detectives have an opportunity to consult with the Medical Examiner.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 700 block of H Street, NE.

On Thursday, June 14, 2012, at approximately 6:15 am, a First District officer was flagged down by a citizen who notified him of an unconscious person in the 700 block of H Street, NE. The officer located an adult female, inside a business establishment, suffering from what was later determined to be a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs consistent with life. The victim was pronounced dead by a member of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office.

The decedent has been identified as 64-year-old Hae Soon Lim of Rockville, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
