In contrast to the very large home that was recently profiled as a House Porn Edition of Good Deal or Not Revisited (GDoN-R), today’s subject property represents what one might find at the smaller end of the Dupont property spectrum. Of course, being Dupont and all, small does not necessarily equate with inexpensive.

Continues after the jump.

Commenters to the original Good Deal or Not (GDoN) post made mention of the proximity of this home to a restaurant known for its outdoor seating, which makes it quite popular on, say, unexpectedly Springlike February days. My office is a block away and I have to say that the accessibility to all kinds of restaurant choices, to Dupont Circle, and, of course, to Metro, is really quite nice. Parking on the weekends? Not so much, but this home does have parking included.

As I was doing some basic research on the area around the home, I found interesting mentions of the large Victorians across the street on this block. Some of these homes are part of a historic district known as the Strivers’ Section. The National Park Service website explains that “the recognition of a special enclave of African American leaders in the area goes back more than 80 years, when it was described by a contemporary writer as the “Strivers’ Section” or the “community of Negro aristocracy.”

Per the disclaimer above, I am disclosing that the buyer’s agent is affiliated with the same company that I am.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
