Urbana Offering Free Pitcher of house-made sangria with Pizza Order

“Urbana Restaurant & Wine Bar. Every day, between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., Urbana will offer ‘Pitchers and Pizzas,’ where all guests who order one of Chef John Critchley’s signature pizzas will receive a pitcher of house-made sangria or a house-made shandy. Sample Chef Critchley’s seasonal “market pizza” featuring ingredients gathered from the Dupont Circle Farmers’ Market each week.”

URBANA RESTAURANT AND WINE BAR

Pitchers and Pizzas. Every day, between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., Urbana will offer ‘Pitchers and Pizzas,’ where all guests who order one of Chef John Critchley’s signature pizzas will receive a pitcher of house-made sangria made with pinot grigio, Christian Brothers Brandy, fresh lemon and lime juice, basil, pureed watermelon and soda OR a pitcher of house-made raspberry shandy made with lemonade and Abita Purple Haze. Throughout the remaining summer months, pitchers of sangria and shandy will be available in the bar and lounge for $10 from 2:00 p.m. to close. Critchley’s summer selection of pizzas includes:

· “market” pizza: seasonal pizza featuring ingredients gathered from the Dupont Circle farmers’ market each week ($16)

· margherita: mozzarella, basil, tomato ($12)

· salsiccia: sopressata, onion, taggiasche olives, artichokes, Italian sausage ($15)

· calzone: house-made lamb sausage, rapini, chili ($10)

· four cheese: pecorino, goat cheese, gorgonzola, parmesan, caramelized onions ($13)

Free Oyster Happy Hour. To reward Urbana’s Facebook and twitter followers, Chef John Critchley will offer complimentary oysters one day a week between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. In order to receive the free oysters, guests need to show their smart phone showing that they ‘like’ Urbana on Facebook or follow Chef Critchley on twitter. The day of the week will change each week, and there is no set schedule. Oyster lovers simply need to check Urbana’s Facebook page, or Chef Crtichley’s twitter feed, where the date for free oysters will be announced with 24 hours’ notice.
