Making the Petworth farmers market even better! From a press release:

The Petworth Community Market (PCM) is excited to announce the launch of “Final Fridays” as part of the 2011 market season. On the last Friday of each month starting in May, shop the offerings of the market while listening to live performances by local bands and special musical guests.

“Last year, music played a large role in creating an ambiance that encouraged market customers to shop, hang out and engage with their neighbors,” said Petworth Community Market Board Member Tom Pipkin. “Final Fridays seeks to build on this success through consistent and regular programming of great, local bands on the last Friday of every month.”

“Final Fridays” dates include May 27, June 24, July 29, August 26, and September 30. Local favorites Duff Davis and Friends and Eva Frau are already planned as part of the line-up. Local bands or musical acts interested in participating should contact Tom Pipkin at [email protected] for application information.

Located along the 4100 block of Ninth Street, NW, at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Upshur Street, PCM will open for its second season on May 20, 2011, and will run every Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM through September 30, 2011.

PCM is still recruiting farm vendors, artists and crafters for the weekly markets. For additional details or to download a vendor application, visit www.petworthmarket.org.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
