Join us for a hands-on workshop all about the pawpaw—North America’s largest (and weirdest) native fruit. We’ll walk you through how to grow them, where to plant them, and how to keep them happy during those first few years when they’re extra sensitive to the sun. We’re also going to be tasting some fresh, locally foraged pawpaws and talking through our favorite ways to use them, from simple pulps to different recipes like custards and breads. The timing is perfect for getting a tree in the ground so the roots can settle in before the winter freeze. Everyone will head home with a healthy seedling grown from seeds we harvested up at Great Falls, and we’ll have all the deep pots and soil you need to get them home safely.
