On June 5th around 8pm, I was hit while riding a CaBi at Florida and 11th Street, NW by a hit and run driver. I wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to the bystanders who came to my aid immediately after. They blocked traffic, called 911, contacted my sister to alert her and sent her pictures of the case number and description of the car/driver the cops got. One kind person even
had the thought to end my e-bike ride so I wouldn’t be hit with a multi hour charge later on. Thank you all so very, very much for your compassion — I was taken to Howard where I received surgery for my broken pelvis, and I will be discharged from rehabilitation this weekend. I have been reflecting on all the little kindnesses over the past couple weeks; please know I have been thinking of you all fondly :) everyone, be careful out there!!”
