“Crystal City Entrance Construction: Spring 2026 Weekend Closures
Highlights
Trains will not operate between Pentagon City and National Airport for ten impacted weekends in spring 2026. For three of those weekends, trains will not operate between Pentagon City and Potomac Yard.
Crystal City station will be closed for all ten impacted weekends.
In addition, National Airport station will also be closed for three of those impacted weekends.
Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Pentagon City and National Airport stations, with the shuttle extending to service Potomac Yard for the three weekends that National Airport station is closed.
Beginning the weekend of Feb. 14, 2026,
Metro will close Crystal City station during certain weekends through June 2026. The closures are necessary for passenger and crew safety during construction of a second entrance at Crystal City in collaboration with Arlington County. The second entrance is expected to open in spring 2027 and will improve accessibility, transfers, and rider distribution.
Service Information
For the following dates, there will be no rail service between Pentagon City and National Airport stations. Some closures include three-day holiday weekend impacts or extend to include National Airport station. Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Pentagon City and National Airport (or Potomac Yard) stations during the closures.

Outside of the closed station(s), Blue and Yellow Line trains will operate approximately every 12 minutes. Blue Line trains will operate in two segments, between Franconia-Springfield and National Airport (or Potomac Yard) and between Pentagon City and Eastern Market. Yellow Line trains will operate in two segments, between Huntington and National Airport (or Potomac Yard) and between Pentagon City and Mt. Vernon Square or Greenbelt.”
