starting this Friday, July 11th, Lost City Books is now purchasing used books!
bring us your books during our buying hours – Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays 12-5 – and we’ll buy them from you for cash or store credit! after this Friday, we will no longer be taking donations.”
“HOW WE BUY
Friday, Sunday, and Monday from 12-5 customers may bring in up to 50 books for a member of staff to review for purchase. Customers can browse and hang out while their books are being reviewed. A photo ID is required for sale.
$1 Cash or $2 store credit will be given for each book we purchase. Purchases are at the sole discretion of the buyer.
WHAT WE DON’T BUY
Books with water/insect/mold damage, food stains, underlining and other marginalia, or books with broken spines or damaged covers
textbooks or test prep books
old biographies, out of date science books, or anything racist or bigoted!
Do you take donations? We do not take books as donations – any books we do not buy need to be taken from the store.
What should I do with my books if you don’t want them? Little free libraries are a good place to start. Regular libraries usually take donations year round.
What if I have more than 50 books? Email [email protected] to set up an appointment outside of regular buying hours.
What if my book is of higher value, rare, or collectible? Email [email protected] and we’ll take a look.”
