Crisis apparently NOT averted…
Comment from Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton: “Closing Dupont Circle for #WorldPride is an unnecessary affront to DC’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community, for whom the park holds historical significance.I’m disappointed that NPS is moving forward with the closure, despite MPD rescinding its request and my urging NPS to keep it open.”

Earlier this week we thought that the order from “Department of the Interior, at the request of MPD, decided to shut down Dupont Circle” from Thursday to Monday had been rescinded.
Guess they changed their minds again.
