DC Fire and EMS first starting reporting around noon:
“Box Alarm 1400 block Newton St NW. Deck on fire rear of a 3 story row extending to 2nd floor.”
“Working Fire 1400 block Newton St NW. Fire rear deck with extension to interior row dwelling and threatened adjacent home. Fire knocked down. Checking for extension. No reported injuries.”
“Update Working Fire 1400 block Newton St NW. Fire under control. No reported injuries. Fire involved rear deck extended to 2nd floor & roofline of fire building and deck of adjacent dwelling. Fire investigators on scene. Checking for displacements.”
