Park police handcuffed all vendors near the Lincoln at once at 1 pm (Thursday.) Looks like police were taking carts as well after the arrests.
Not sure if this was due to them being with no license, after multiple warnings etc.
Sad fact is that National Mall is
lacking places for tourists to get coffee, nutritious food or snacks, vs other international cities that get millions of visitors and offer such amenities.
I would also like to mention the kiosk near the Vietnam Memorial that’s been shuttered for years, and the disgusting and derelict state of bathrooms and water fountains on the Mall that make for a lackluster welcome to the millions of tourists.”
