A developer bought the house next door to us in Petworth in April 2023 and started demolition. Fast forward 16 months, and the house is more of a nightmare than ever before.
They seem to work on the house for two days, then disappear for 2-3 weeks. We have been living next to a filthy construction site (piles of dirt/building materials, weeds, rodents- you name it) for over a year and we have documented with photos/video. We’ve been patient because we figured this was just part of city living, but our patience is running dry. We’ve tried reaching out to the owner, but of course they are hiding behind an LLC and we can’t get in touch with them. We’ve also tried reporting it to DOB, but that hasn’t gone anywhere. Is it time to consult with a real estate attorney, or is there another avenue we can explore?“
