Columbia Heights

“Take advantage of this opportunity to share your vision for the future of public space in Columbia Heights.”

Thanks to Priscilla for passing on from the DC Office of Planning:

“As you start your week, I hope you remember the Columbia Heights & Mt. Pleasant Community Workshop happening this week. The workshop is tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Columbia Heights Education Campus (CHEC). The DC Office of Planning will share preliminary findings from the Public Life Study and gather input from you and your neighbors on what you think the neighborhood needs to thrive. Take advantage of this opportunity to share your vision for the future of public space in Columbia Heights.

This process is open to everyone. We invite you to attend the open-house-style workshop on a walk-in basis and stay for as long as you like. OP’s goal is to provide attendees with an interactive and engaging experience. For more details on how you and your neighbors can participate and to register for the workshop (though not required), please visit OP’s project website at https://www.publicinput.com/chmpstudy.

What can you expect when you arrive at the workshop?

Interactive Stations: Visit various stations with boards displaying the Public Life Study project/consultant team’s preliminary planning work. Engage with OP staff, consultant team members, and ANC 1A Commissioners, who will be available to answer your questions and provide insights.
Conversation Area: Participate in facilitated dialogues to delve deeper into specific topics related to the project. This is your chance to voice your thoughts and engage in meaningful discussions.
Simulated Walkshop: If you could not attend OP’s community walking tours in July, don’t worry! One station will feature a simulated walkshop at 6:30 pm using Google Street View, offering a virtual tour of public spaces. OP staff will share detailed information about the planning project and listen to your ideas and priorities for the community.”
